The CEO and Chairman of Renault has earned a place on this list through the virtue of having the foresight and guts to invest more than $5 billion so that Renault and Nissan could develop a range of electric cars. This resulted in the introduction of the Leaf, which currently reigns as the number one selling electric vehicle in the world, with more than 250,000 units shifted. The second-generation Leaf hit the market in 2017. Carlos Ghosn showed that investment into electric vehicles by a major car manufacturer could pay off.
