Simultaneously anonymous and super-famous, the street artist Banksy has been using his global reach to highlight climate issues for years. Back in 2009 he spray-painted the slogan ‘I DON’T BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING’ at a canal in London as a response to the failure to agree to a legally binding climate treaty at a UN summit in Copenhagen. His artwork is often politically charged and has an anti-establishment tone, which gets a thumbs up from us. We’d like to see him tackle the climate change question more strongly in 2018.
